‘Gilbert Garage Pottery’

Before you ask the name comes from the old large clay mixer i used to use in Cumbria at CCAD. When the machine had to be dismantled and removed i kept the name plate which was ‘Gilbert’. This now hangs above the door of my workshop which is a converted old wooden garage- hence Gilbert Garage Pottery! My MA studies were the incentive to sort this workshop out and clear it of all my accumilated junk. I still need to do some more work on it to get water properly in and to insulate it better especially in the winter. Although as a part-time student i have access to Uclans ceramic resources i find it much easier to create in my own space and to leave work in various states of completion. The next step will be to get a a small electric kiln as transporting work in its raw state can be a challenge.
